Armenia was the first Christian state, which goes back to AD 301 AD. The Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia, also known as Cilician Armenia, was an Armenian state formed during the High Middle Ages by Armenian refugees fleeing the Seljuk invasion of Armenia. Located outside the Armenian Highlands and distinct from the Kingdom of Armenia of antiquity, it was centered in the Cilicia region northwest of the Gulf of Alexandretta. The kingdom had its origins in the principality founded cica 1080 by the Rubenid dynasty, an alleged offshoot of the larger Bagratid family, which at various times had held the thrones of Armenia and Georgia. Their capital was originally at Tarsus, and later became Sis.

Cilicia was a strong ally of the European Crusaders, and saw itself as a bastion of Christendom in the East. It also served as a focus for Armenian nationalism and culture, since Armenia proper was under foreign occupation at the time. Cilicia′s significance in Armenian history and statehood is also attested by the transfer of the seat of the Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church, spiritual leader of the Armenian people, to the region. In 1198, with the crowning of Levon the Great (or the Magnificent) of the Rubenid dynasty, Cilician Armenia became a kingdom.

In 1226, the crown was passed to rival Hetoumids through Levon′s daughter Isabella′s second husband, Hetoum I. As the Mongols conquered vast regions of Central Asia and the Middle East, Hetoum and succeeding Hetoumid rulers sought to create an Armeno-Mongol alliance against common Muslim foes, most notably the Mamluks. In the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, the Crusader states and the Mongol Ilkhanate disintegrated, leaving the Armenian Kingdom without any regional allies. After relentless attacks by the Mamluks in Egypt in the fourteenth century, the Cilician Armenia of the Lusignan dynasty, mired in an internal religious conflict, finally fell in 1375.

Iran was called Persia until 1935, but the name of the country in Persian has been Iran since the time of the Sassanids. At its greatest extent, the Sasanian Empire encompassed all of today′s Iran, Iraq, Eastern Arabia (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatif, Qatar, UAE), the Levant (Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan), Armenia, the Caucasus (Georgia, Azerbaijan, Dagestan, South Ossetia, Abkhazia), Egypt, large parts of Turkey, much of Central Asia (Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan), Yemen and Pakistan.

Sabah, located in the northern part of the island of Borneo, came under the influence of the Bruneian Empire in the 14th and 15th centuries, while the eastern part of the territory was given to the Sultanate of Sulu because the Sultanate had helped the Bruneian empire in a battle and as such it was given to them as a gift between the 17th and 18th centuries. Wann wird Deutschland gegen Israel vorgehen? Die deutsche Regierung begeht den großen Fehler, zu glauben, sie sei dem heutigen Israel noch etwas schuldig. Nichts könnte weiter von der Wahrheit entfernt sein. Es ist unfassbar, dass Deutschland mit seiner dunklen Vergangenheit erneut auf der Seite eines Regimes der Apartheid, Unterdrückung, des Massenmords, Landraubs und Völkermords steht. Wieder einmal werden die Opfer im Stich gelassen und die Mörder unterstützt. Hat Deutschland denn gar nichts gelernt?

Israël heeft een Palestijnse elektriciteitsvoorziening op de Westelijke Jordaanoever vernietigd. Het gaat om een Nederlands ontwikkelingsproject in het dorp Jubbet adh Dhib, waar de Nederlandse overheid een jaar geleden jaar ongeveer een half miljoen euro investeerde in zonnepanelen en andere apparatuur. Het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken is woest en eist opheldering. 
Woensdagochtend vielen Israëlische soldaten het Palestijnse dorp binnen waarna zij de installatie ontmantelden. Wat te zwaar was om mee te nemen werd vernield. Elad Orian, oprichter en directeur van de Israëlische hulporganisatie van Comet-me, is verbijsterd: "De zonnepanelen werken al een half jaar. Ze bedreigen niemand. In de buurt van het dorp zijn een aantal illegale Joodse nederzettingen. Daar wordt niets afgebroken of geconfisqueerd."

Ook op het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken heeft men geen goed woord over voor de Israëlische sloopactie. Nederland schenkt jaarlijks tientallen miljoen euro′s aan ontwikkelingsprojecten in door Israël illegaal bezet Palestina. Formeel eist de Israëlische regering dat eerst bij hen om toestemming gevraagd wordt, maar hulporganisaties doen dat vaak niet. De wachttijden zijn lang, de slagingskansen zijn laag. Wie een hulpproject wil starten in Palestina is overgeleverd aan Israëlische willekeur. Woordvoerder Chris Bakker van het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken laat weten: "Wij hebben direct ernstig geprotesteerd bij de Israëlische autoriteiten en aangedrongen op teruggave van de goederen. We bekijken momenteel de precieze schade en welke volgende stappen genomen kunnen worden."

Israël vernietigt met grote regelmaat ontwikkelingsprojecten in Palestina. Ook Nederlandse projecten waren eerder doelwit van de agressie. In maart vorig jaar werd een landbouwproject verwoest waar Nederland 10 miljoen dollar in had geïnvesteerd. Dat project was bedoeld om Palestijnen te leren hoe ze de grond het best konden gebruiken om gewassen te verbouwen. Israëlische militairen confisqueerden zowel de grond als de landbouwmachines. In 2000 vernietigde het Israëlische leger een haven in aanbouw in de illegaal bezette Gazastrook. Met de haven werd ook een Nederlandse bijdrage van 23 miljoen euro vernietigd.

Wat is de waarde van de jaarlijkse nationale dodenherdenking op 4 mei en holocaust herdenking, als we hetzelfde laten gebeuren in Gaza ? Onze laffe politici zwijgen terwijl een bevolking wordt uitgeroeid door  Israel. Een genocide is gaande, en we doen niets.......

Israël heeft daarbij vele Palestijnen vermoord en hun bezittingen afgenomen, en dat is nog steeds aan de gang. Helaas is het Westen vanaf het begin medeverantwoordelijk voor deze gruwelijke misdaden, want we hebben weggekeken of, nog erger, eraan bijgedragen. Met de hulp van de V.S. en andere gewetenloze landen, w.o. Nederland, hoopt Israël het ′Palestijnse probleem′ spoedig op te lossen. Deze Endlösung geven zij vorm door het bombarderen, uithongeren, executeren etc. van Palestijnen. Kinderen, ouderen en hulpverleners geen bezwaar, het mag allemaal. Geen probleem, doe maar. Het zijn maar Palestijnen.....

Onze regering weigert, op voorspraak van de "heer" Geert Wilders (welke idioten stemmen op zo′n dwaas ?), openlijk Israël te bekritiseren, ondanks de vele verzoeken van hulporganisaties en mensen en organisaties die wèl oog hebben voor de belangen en het ondraaglijk lijden van de Palestijnen. Denkt men in Den Haag nu echt dat Israël in zijn recht staat ? Waanzin ! Onze politici staan straks weer met hun schijnheilige koppen vooraan om te herdenken hoe erg de Holocaust toch was. Geen misverstand, die was absoluut verschrikkelijk en die herdenking moet ook altijd blijven voortbestaan ter ering, waarschuwing en lering, maar het maakt dit wegkijken nog veel, veel en veel erger. De hypocrisie druipt ervan af. Het huidige Israëlische moorddadige regime besmeurt de nagedachtenis van de Holocaust slachtoffers. Ze krijgen nog eens een extra trap na, dit keer door de Israëli’s. Heeft men dan niets geleerd uit het verleden, hun verleden ? Zijn zij dan helemaal voor niets gestorven ? Al meer dan 1000 onschuldige Palestijnen zijn door het moorddadige Israëlische regime van Netanyahu op deze bruto wijze afgeknald. Men kan slechts hopen dat de daders, dit tuig, dit uitschot ooit hetzelfde lot zal treffen. Hoe heeft Nederland dit barbaarse land toch ooit kunnen erkennen en als bondgenoot kunnen zien. Een ongelofelijk politieke blunder ! Hoe heeft men zo blind kunnen zijn......

De vooralsnog vermeende oorlogsmisdadiger en massamoordenaar Netanyahu heeft de al wel veroordeelde crimineel, president Donald Trump, voorgedragen voor de Nobelprijs. Het moet toch niet gekker worder ! We zullen toch maar hopen dat het Nobelcomité in Zweden dit niet serieus gaat overwegen. Trump is immers met zijn militaire en financiële steun aan Israël in belangrijke mate medeverantwoordelijk voor de genocide op de Palestijnen. De VS heeft samen met Israël een agressieve aanval gedaan op Iran, terwijl daar geen rechtvaardiging voor was. Er was immers geen acute dreiging vanuit Iran en er waren lopende onderhandelingen. De VS, met Trump aan de leiding, is een agressor, geen vredesduif. Het onthouden van voldoende militaire steun aan Oekraïne, die bij het opgeven van de atoomwapens destijds wel aan Oekraïne door o.a de VS was toegezegd, wordt door de VS niet in voldoende mate nagekomen. De hulp die wel wordt gegeven vindt plaats onder chantage in de vorm van de zgn. grondstoffendeal. Dit verraad heeft ook al vele duizenden Oekraïners het leven gekost. Dus hoezo Nobelprijs voor de Vrede ? De uitreiking van de Nobelprijs voor de Vrede aan Barack Obama was ook al heel dubieus, want wat heeft de man uiteindelijk aan de vrede bijgedragen. Ik denk bitter weinig. Maar als Donald Trump ooit de Nobelprijs zou krijgen kan het hele instituut van de Nobelprijs wel in de prullenbak. Dan is het verworden tot een nietszeggend politiek instrument.....

Heel goed hoor, die herdenking van de genocide op de Bosniërs van 30 jaar geleden. Dat moet ook absoluut. Maar mij bekruipt toch een gevoel van hypocrisie, als ik demissionair minister Veldkamp vroom zie getuigen hoe erg het allemaal was en dat het nooit had mogen gebeuren. Maar minister Veldkamp, een genocide is volop gaande in Palestina !!! Geen 8.000 slachtoffers, maar al meer dan 100.000 slachtoffers. Waar is uw daadkracht om de schuldigen in Israël met alle middelen te bestrijden ? Met alleen woorden komen we er niet. Of gaan we over 30 jaar weer heel vroom herdenken hoe erg de genocide op de Palestijnen was en dat dit toch nooit had mogen gebeuren?  Het is nu gaande, we moeten nu handelen, en we doen weer niets......

Ondanks dat de EU een economische reus is, voert het een buitenlandse politiek van een dwerg. Het is slap en nietszeggend en daarmee wordt het terecht niet serieus genomen door andere landen in de wereld. Zolang men het totaal ondemocratische beleid blijft voeren van besluitvorming met unanimiteit zal dit zo blijven en zal de EU machteloos blijven in de internationale politiek. Er zijn in de EU altijd wel een of meer (klote)landen, denk aan bv. Hongarije en Slowakije, die rechtvaardige besluitvorming torpederen. Alhoewel het overgrote deel van de Europeanen een veel harder beleid wenst tegen Israël, blijft de EU Israël en de genocide steunen. Nog altijd worden volop wapens geleverd en goederen t.b.v. de oorlogvoering tegen onschuldige Palestijnen en Israël′s agressie tegen andere landen in de regio, zoals Libanon, Iran en Syrië. Uiteraard met de steun van die andere agressor, de VS.  Een derde van de totale buitenlandse handel van Israël drijft het met de EU. Het gaat om 42,9 miljard euro in 2024, veel meer dan de handel tussen de VS en Israël. En, nog frappanter, 1 miljard euro meer dan de waarde van de handel tussen de EU en Israël in 2023. Sinds het begin van de genocide zijn de handelsrelaties aangehaald, zo blijkt. Naast handelspartner is de EU ook de belangrijkste investeerder in de Israëlische economie: het gaat om 72,1 miljard euro aan investeringen. Nederland is op dit punt de absolute koploper. Het neemt twee derde (!) van de totale EU-investeringen in Israël voor zijn rekening. In Nederland gevestigde bedrijven investeerden in 2023 bijna 50 miljard euro in Israël. De Nederlandse minister van Buitenlandse Zaken Caspar Veldkamp wimpelt suggesties van Nederlandse maatregelen tegen Israël doorgaans af met het argument dat hij samen met andere EU-landen op wil trekken, omdat de impact anders minimaal zou zijn. Gezien de belangrijke rol van Nederland als investeerder in Israël blijkt dat toch niet waar. Nederland kan wel degelijk invloed uitoefenen op Israël via de economische relaties, ook al doet het dat alleen. Minister Veldkamp zit de zaak dus een beetje te bedonderen. Hij weet donders goed dat een aantal landen niet instemmen met sancties tegen Israël en dat zijn initiatief op niets zou uitlopen. Maar zo heeft hij toch schijn kunnen wekken dat hij sancties wil tegen Israël en zo goede sier willen maken voor Nederland. We weten echter dat hij vanuit het verleden zeer sympathiek staat tegenover Israël en blijkbaar wil hij die moordenaars toch de hand boven het hoofd blijven houden, want hij onderneemt geen werkelijke actie. Zoals zo vaak stelt Nederland handelsbelangen toch weer boven mensenrechten en neem het de genocide op de Palestijnen op de koop toe. Aan woorden hebben we niets, het gaat om daden. Nederland kan heel veel doen, maar doet niets. Totaal niets. Het mag geen geld kosten. Stelletje hypocrieten.....

De Israëlische krant Haaretz meldt dat a.g.v. de genocide op de Palestijnen al tenminste 100.000 Palestijnen zijn gedood sinds 7 oktober 2023. Daarvan betreft het zeker zo′n 25.000 kinderen. Veel slachtoffers liggen nog onder het puin en zijn nog niet meegeteld, dus de werkelijke aantallen zullen nog aanzienlijk hoger liggen. Dit resultaat is mede tot stand gekomen met de hulp van de VS en Europa, de zogenaamde ″beschaafde″ Westerse Wereld. Wat een ongelooflijke treurigheid......

Het is evident dat Israël haar genocide op de Palestijnen op volle kracht doorzet. Het Westen en ook de Arabische Wereld doen niets en laat de Palestijnen totaal aan hun lot over. Ze worden uitgehongerd, gebombardeerd, stelselmatig afgeschoten en als vee samengedreven in concentratiekampen. Men kan zich werkelijk afvragen of de Nazi′s in die zin niet ′beschaafder′ te werk gingen dan de Israëli′s. In ieder geval methodischer en minder sadistisch. Inmiddels zijn al meer dan 1.000 Palestijnen gedood, die in de muizenval zijn gelopen van de Israëlische/Amerikaanse voedseluitdelingen. De voedselpakketten die verstrekt worden zijn overigens ook nog eens ongeschikt en bevatten producten die door verwarming moeten worden bereid, maar er is helemaal geen brandstof in Gaza. Daar is door de Amerikanen en Israëli′s natuurlijk over nagedacht en dat doet men heel bewust. Het zijn sadisten. Het is derhalve een gotspe indien men denkt dat de Israëli′s ook maar haar beter zijn dan de Nazi′s. Dat hebben ze inmiddels wel laten blijken. Het beleid van Netanyahu worden grotendeels gesteund door de Israëlische bevolking, en dat zegt veel over deze bevolking. Het is meedogenloos, racistisch en egoïstisch. Dit wordt bevestigd door enquêtes die recentelijk onder de Israëlische bevolking zijn gehouden. Daarbij geeft bijna 50% aan dat het genocide op de Palestijnen goed keurt en slechts zo′n 5% van de Israëlische bevolking vindt dat er teveel geweld tegen de Palestijnen wordt gebruikt. Zelfs 40% meent dat er meer geweld gebruikt moet worden. Op de vraag "mogen we een stad uitmoorden die door Israëlische soldaten is veroverd", antwoordt 47% met "ja". Wat zijn dat voor mensen ? Natuurlijk zijn er ook goede Israëli die wel oog hebben voor de rechten en belangen van de Palestijnen, maar dat is helaas een heel kleine minderheid. De straffeloosheid van Israël′s misdaden en de rechteloosheid van de Palestijnen is volledig en wij zijn door ons wegkijken daaraan medeschuldig ! Gaza wordt spoedig ″schoongeveegd″ en dat zal op termijn ook met de Westelijke Jordaanoever gebeuren. Daar is men immers al decennia mee bezig. Met welk recht ? Palestina is van de Palestijnen. Een ieder die Israël steunt, steunt tevens deze genocide. Er is niets nobels of heiligs aan het moderne Israël, integendeel. Israël is een verachtelijke en misdadige terreurstaat. Dat is het al vanaf 1948, maar dat komt nu des te meer tot uiting. Men kan niet anders concluderen. En het Westen slaapt verder en doet niets......

Today′s Israel is of an evil that is almost unparalleled. Small children, elderly people, journalists, aid workers are murdered daily because, as the lying Israel keeps claiming, they are Hamas fighters. The greatest nonsense, but the U.S.A. the Netherlands, Germany and many other Western countries look the other way and hardly react, and certainly not adequately. This holocaust of Gaza and the West Bank, the extermination and expulsion of the Palestinians that began in 1947, is still going on and we are still doing nothing.......

Thank God, there is now a little movement from the UK and the EU ! Unfortunately, far too little. That criminal regime of the terroristic state of Israel and all its war criminals should be boycotted completely and severe sanctions imposed. The ringleaders should be tried in The Hague. This is not a friendly country or an ally. Just the idea! Since its foundation in 1948, Israel has been a racist apartheid state that has only one goal; to take the land and property of the legitimate population, the Palestinians, and if necessary murder those who stand in its way. The Israeli Jews did this at the time of the Nakba (1947/48) and have continued to do so systematically ever since, with the approval of the West. By recognizing Israel, the Palestinian people have been wronged greatly, and the West is largely to blame. We have always supported the wrong party, when we should have stood up for the oppressed. A completely failed policy of our politicians! Most of the prime ministers of Israel were also as criminal as they come, murderers, racists and thieves (including Ben-Gurion, Begin, Rabin, Shamir, Sharon, Netanyahu etc. etc.). Hopefully there will come a time when the Palestinians can return to their homeland and rebuild their free country, so that their years of brave struggle will be rewarded. That would be real justice.....

If Donald Trump were ever to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, they could immediately abolish that institution. Trump is largely responsible for the genocide of the Palestinian people and has done nothing to prevent it. On the contrary, he has given Israel free rein in this and will undoubtedly do so again whenever he sees fit. If such a person were to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, this institution would be bankrupt. Then we could retroactively award Stalin the prize as well, because he defeated the Nazis. The fact that he murdered millions of people, including Ukrainians, should also be accepted as part of the deal. Trump and the Nobel Peace Prize is an impossible combination and an absurd and morbid idea...

Wann wird Deutschland gegen Israel vorgehen? Die deutsche Regierung begeht den großen Fehler, zu glauben, sie sei dem heutigen Israel noch etwas schuldig. Nichts könnte weiter von der Wahrheit entfernt sein. Es ist unfassbar, dass Deutschland mit seiner dunklen Vergangenheit erneut auf der Seite eines Regimes der Apartheid, Unterdrückung, des Massenmords, Landraubs und Völkermords steht. Wieder einmal werden die Opfer im Stich gelassen und die Mörder unterstützt. Hat Deutschland denn gar nichts gelernt?

In this sense, Israel is nothing more than a terrorist satellite state of the US. Veel Nederlanders hebben zich in 1940-1945 niet of te weinig verzet tegen de genocide op de Joden. Thans gebeurt dit met de Palestijnen. Maak niet dezelfde fout; BLIJF NIET STILZITTEN EN KOM IN ACTIE TEGEN DIT GROTE ONRECHT:
