BOLIVIA - REPUBLIC - 20 Centavos 1879, Potosi

weight 4,60gr. ; silver Ø 22,5mm.

This silver twenty centavos was struck in Potosi in 1879 to honor president Hilarion Daza (1840-94). It interrupted the normal issue of twenty centavos struck 1872-85, showing the portrait of Hilarión Daza Groselle;

Hilarión Daza Groselle was born 1840 in Sucre, member of an old creole family of Catalan, Basque, Corsican, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Native American background. He followed a military career. Daza came to power on May 4, 1876 in a coup against the constitutional president Tomás Frías. After Chilean troops in February/March 1879  invated and occupied the "Bolivian Litoral" around Antofagasta and the Peruvian port of Pisagua a war was fought between Chili with Peru and Bolivia.  The Bolivian division "Camarones" -commanded by Narciso Campero- retreated before the combat began. The "Camarones" debacle led to the unseating of Daza Groselle on December 28, 1879, when a Council of State was convened. Daza remained briefly in Peru and then went into exile for 14 years mainly in France. In 1894, the ex-president decided to return from exile in France. Daza Groselle was murdered in the train station of Uyuni soon after entering Bolivian soil on February 27, 1894; he was 54 years old.

LOWER CANADA - VICTORIA, 1837-1901 - BANK OF MONTREAL - Bank token of 1 penny or 2 sous 1842

weight 17,58gr. ; copper Ø 34mm.

During the first half of the 19th century there was a chronic shortage of small coins in Lower Canada. In 1835, following a government decision to remove all the lightweight pieces from circulation, the shortage became acute. No official coins were issued but the Bank of Montreal, the Quebec Bank, the City Bank and La Banque du Peuple were given authority to issue penny and halfpenny tokens of a weight similar to that of British copper coins.

The reverse of this dollar features the ship The Matthew, which is believed to be the ship used by explorer John Cabot to discover the area. Below the ship we can read the legend FLOREAT TERRA NOVA. "Floreat Terra Nova" is a Latin phrase meaning "May the New Found Land Flourish". It was featured on this 1949 Canadian silver dollar, which commemorated the entry of Newfoundland as the tenth Canadian province, referencing Newfoundland′s historical designation as the "new found land".

This coin commemorates the Confederation Centennial (1867-1967)
The reverse shows us the Canada goose (Branta canadensis) in flight. The flying goose on the coin symbolizes dynamic serenity, freedom, and majesty. The designer Alex Colville chose this design because the Canada goose is an iconic native bird that represents the vast nature of Canada. The goose is depicted in full flight, underscoring the progress and unity of the nation during the centenary celebration.

ESSEQUIBO & DEMERARY - BRITISH EMPIRE - GEORGE III, 1760-1820 - 1 Stiver 1813, Royal Mint (Tower Hill), Londen

weight 18,89gr. ; copper Ø 33,5mm.

The Essequibo and Demerary were originally two of three Dutch colonies along the coast of present-day Guyana. They were seized by the British to avoid having them fall into French hands after the French invasion of the Netherlands. They remained in British control through the 1830′s, at which point the Netherlands and Great Britain formally divided the region between them, the British taking over the western portion. This mixed colonial origin shows in the coinage: Though the portrait of the British monarch is honored on the obverse, the denominations are clearly Dutch.

These coins normally are quite worn, most of the time not better as very fine, and very hard to find in extremely fine or better. Only the proofs and gilt-proofs of this cointype we see regularly in high grade condition, but not the pieces meant for use in normal circulation. Rare as such.

HAITI - REPUBLIC - 10 centimes 1863, Heaton

weight 4,11gr. ; bronze Ø 22mm.

Struck in the name of president Fabre-Nicholas Geffrard (1859-1867). Fabre-Nicholas Geffrard was born on 19 September 1806 in Anse-à-Veau, Haiti. He was the son of Nicolas Geffrard and Marguerite Claudine LeJeune. After collaborating in a coup to remove Faustin Soulouque from power in order to return Haiti back to social and political control of the colored elite, Geffrard was made president in 1859.

To placate the peasants he renewed the practice of selling state-owned lands and ended a schism with the Roman Catholic Church which then took on an important role in improving education. In 1867, Geffrard′s bodyguards, Tirailleurs, betrayed him and tried to assassinate him inside the national palace. In 1866, a huge fire engulfed hundreds of houses and business. He was overthrouwn by Major Sylvain Salnave in 1867. In March 1867, Geffrard and his family disguised themselves and fled to Jamaica, where he died in Kingston on 31 December 1878. He was 72.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The United States of America is a former democracy on the American continent. It was created by the conquest of land from the original population by Spain, England, the Netherlands, Sweden, France and Russia.

Thirteen British colonies on the east coast of North America revolted against their mother country in 1775 and declared their independence on July 4, 1776 as the United States of America. The thirteen stripes of the flag of the United States symbolize these thirteen colonies. This was followed by the American Revolutionary War (1776-1783). In 1783, the Kingdom of Great Britain recognized independence. A government was formed that drew up a new constitution that became effective after 1789.

The initial democracy gradually developed into a less than democratic oligarchy, dominated by only two, fairly conservative, parties. A so-called Democratic Party and the Republican Party, in both cases dominated by a wealthy elite that cares little for the interests of the population but mainly focuses on the interests of large companies and the very richest. Due to an undemocratic electoral system, too much power for the president and a poorly functioning legal system, one can no longer speak of a real democracy.

The trias politica, the basis of a good democracy, no longer functions properly in the United States. The rights of the population, in particular the minorities, are trampled on and do not receive the (legal) protection that it should receive in a decent democracy.

The current president Trump is further undermining these abuses by governing by decree and questioning and undermining the judiciary. With this, the current president no longer shows himself as a democrat, but as a dictator. He is only interested in his own (financial) interests and those of his rich friends. The poorest of the world, global warming, the environment do not interest him at all, nor the interests of America′s (former) allies. International agreements and treaties are unilaterally terminated, with which the United States shows disrespect and betrayal of its former allies. Giving away Ukraine to Russia and denying previously made military commitments shows the incredible stupidity, unreliability and cowardice of the current American regime.....

Trump is, together Musk, Vance and Rubio, the mouthpiece of Putin. He is so stupid, that he proclaims Putin′s fabrications as truth. How incredibly stupid and naive can you be......

Trump, Vance, Musk and Rubio support the European fascist and neo-nazi parties.
This says everything about the current US government.......

The Putin poodles asshole Trump and asshole Vance thought they could blackmail Zelensky with a commodity deal. These cowards and traitors have completely miscalculated. The hero Zelensky is a man of honor and will not be lent to that. SLAVA UKRAINI !

Americans mind your business. You elected a complete lunatic into your White House, but a dangerous lunatic.....

Putin is laughing his head off at the fool Trump. What a complete idiot. Dirty traitor.

The great betrayal......
Fuck Trump, Fuck Vance, Fuck Musk, Fuck Rubio.
SLAVA UKRAINI !!!

Billionaire Musk has initiated the dissolution of USAID on behalf of the Trump administration. Apparently the current American administration no longer has compassion for the poorest and oppressed of this world. They only want to profit from the poor countries and exploit them further, for the honor and glory of the US, but the people of those countries may die. Human lives and humanity are not important, only dollars. Millions of people will die as a result of this policy. Congratulations US! Do you think the US is a Christian country? Draw your own conclusion.....

Remember, Jesus Christ was the first socialist;

• All who believed were one community and shared everything together. They sold their possessions and goods, and the money was distributed; to each one just as he had need. (Acts II 42: 47)

• No one claimed anything of what he possessed for himself; but all things were held in common. (...) For those who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the money from the sales to the apostles, and laid it at their feet. And to each one just as he had need was distributed. (Acts IV 32: 35)

After a senile, demented president, the US now has a mentally disturbed president suffering from delusions of grandeur. Unfortunately, lunatics in such high positions are dangerous. His ″psychiatrist,″ Mark Rutte, often manages to dissuade him from his most absurd ideas. But that′s always short-lived. A little later, after malicious actors whisper something to him again, he comes up with the most absurd ideas. It′s like fighting a losing battle. One should protect such a lunatic from themselves, but also from those around them. In any normal country, such a person would be lovingly cared for in a secure institution. In a country with 350 million inhabitants, you′d think there would be better-suited individuals for the responsible position of president...

The current US administration is a collection of incompetent fools, the likes of which are unparalleled in American history.....

TRUMP IS EVEL....

The Trump administration is cutting off $10 billion in funding for social services like childcare and aid for poor families in five deep blue states.

The New York Post reported Monday that the Department of Health and Human Services will freeze funding for California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, and New York. The freeze will affect $7.35 billion from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF, program, which gives cash assistance to very poor people. The administration is also blocking $2.4 billion in Child Care Development Funding and  another $869 million from the Social Services Block Grant for all five states, citing benefits going to immigrants.
